Hello!  Thanks for being here.

I live with my husband, three daughters, and dog Max in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. We have lived a few places over the years but I consider myself a Midwest girl through and through. Every season is displayed in extreme ways, but that is truly one of my favorite things!

After graduating in 2003 from Dordt University with a bachelor’s degree in fine art and education, I have made a career out of teaching others about art and sharing my passion with high school students for the past 20 years.  There is so much to love about this profession!  I tell my students often that I love who I teach, where I teach, and what I teach.

While I have always enjoyed teaching art I have been blessed to also work as a commission artist for many years. In 2022 I took the leap to obediently trust God's leading in creating time and space for both teaching budding artists while also developing my own artwork.

My work up until this point has been almost strictly commission-based, people reaching out so I can assist in creating what they envision.  I love this work and hope it continues as it adds variety and wonderful relationships working with my clients.  Yet it is also incredibly exciting to think about all the work I have stirring around in my mind waiting to be put on a canvas.

How wonderful to think of all the new things that are yet to be created!

The values I work out of are the same in how I live the rest of life:  Love Jesus, and then go love others.  Because of these two truths, I promise to offer accessibility, clear communication, quality work, and care for those I am blessed to work with.  As this path of art-making continues to unfolds, I look forward to whom I get to paint for next, or a painting you see here which needs a new home on your wall.

I can’t wait to connect and create with you!
